Some time ago I read a post published on Bookish Bibliophile and it seemed fun so I decided to join in and share some of my reading habits. If you like this post, feel free to make your own or comment and share your reading habits. Let’s start.
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
“Home” is a strange concept right now, but let’s say, usually, when I’m reading at home, I’m reading in bed before going to sleep.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Bookmark! No magnetic bookmarks or anything fancy, just a traditional bookmark will do. I’ve been seeing some diy bookmarks lately that look super cute and I think I’ll try making a few ones for my next books.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
No, please, don’t stop me if I’m in the middle of a chapter. I don’t really go for any number of pages in particular, it depends on how much time I have, but I can’t stop reading in the middle of a chapter. If I have to stop for any immediate reason, you can be sure I’ll be thinking about finishing the chapter and will do so as soon as I possibly can.
Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
I might have a drink nearby whilst reading. Tea or wine are my “book drinks” depending on the moment.

Multitasking: Music or TV whilst reading?
On occasion I will have some piano music playing in the background, but not often. Some instrumental music can be ok, anything else would just be distracting.
One book at a time or several?
Well, I’ve always been the kind to read just one book because I thought it was better to keep focused and really enjoy it. However lately I’ve been reading several at a time. It works for me as long as they’re different genres.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere! If I have a chance to read on the commute to work or at any breaks or anything, why not? Especially these days where I’m pretty busy, I have to take the opportunity to read whenever I can. I’m even working on this post while listening to an audiobook at work.
Read out loud or silently in your head?
For the most part I read silently in my head, but sometimes I do like to read out loud. I’ve done some readings on discord with some other people and it’s always nice to hear how different people intonation can affect how you view a character.
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
I read ahead. I do usually check how long a chapter is to see if I have enough time to finish it. When I was younger I did read the last page before starting to read the book. Surprisingly, it never spoiled the book for me, but I don’t do that anymore.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I always try to take care of my books and keep them like new. Things like the photo below might look cute, but I’m just glad that’s not one of my books.

Do you write in your books?
NO! Why would I do that? No, no, no. Unless, maybe, if I had a spare copy… but no, no, no. Never. I couldn’t do that. As I said, I wanna keep my books like new.
wooo! thanks for joining in this tag I hope you had fun while writing it. 🙂
